Cyclone Mocha in Myanmar and Bangladesh: destruction and devastation, pictures

The west coast of Myanmar is on its knees after the arrival of Cyclone Mocha, which struck since the afternoon of Sunday 14 May causing significant damage and human casualties. 

By the morning of Monday, 15 May, the provisional death toll stood at six, with around 700 injured.

Rescuers have started evacuation operations for about 1,000 people, all of whom were stranded during the weather event that hit along the west coast of Myanmar.

To make the overall picture more dramatic, wind gusts of almost 250 kilometres per hour.

The United Nations Humanitarian Aid Office OCHA said that Tropical Cyclone Mocha made landfall in Myanmar on the afternoon of 14 May with maximum sustained winds of 250 km/h and gusts of up to 305 km/h.
