Bad weather in Ischia, landslide hits the island
A strong wave of bad weather hit Ischia, particularly in the Casamicciola Termearea. Here a landslide dragged away many cars, many of which ended up in the sea. Mud and flooding covered the roads and caused at least confirmed and missing victims.

A storm hit the island of Ischia on the night between Friday 25 and Saturday 26 November, causing flooding and much damage.

At the moment the confirmed victims are 7, including a newborn of just 21 days. 5 people are missing and 230 are displaced.

The Naples prosecutor's office has opened a file for negligent disaster. The carabinieri are already collecting the first evidence on the spot.

Casamicciola Terme, one of the municipalities of Ischia, is the area most affected by the devastation of bad weather.

The Italian Council of Ministers met and declared a state of emergency for a year, also allocating a first funding.
