Freight train derails in Florence, rail out of service and passengers stranded on intercity overnight
A cargo train derailed in the Florence Castello station (Italy) around 2:30 a.m. April 20 (Italian time).
The train accident did not cause any injuries but triggered a series of disruptions to the movement of regional and high-speed trains due to the blockage of the line between Florence and Bologna.
More than 100 passengers were stranded on an overnight train as a result of the accident.

At the moment, more than three hours of delays are expected for trains en route while many others have been canceled. At the moment there appears to be no indication that the railway line will be restored.
